Found this on the Applied Machete Blog

This is Irish Rich's blog and he has a Von Dutch Monday. This was posted a while back and I thought I'd share.

Ok, how cool is this? A roller skate powered by a nitro- burning 2 stroke engine. Just your average '50's girl's steel wheeled sidewalk roller skate powered by a .23 ci. engine, that turned 13,000 RPM according to the letter Dutch sent Hot Rod magazine that showed up in their Nov. '55 issue. You'll notice that in the specs Dutch painted on the skate, it says 1,300 RPM. Dutch said the ignition was via glow plug, and the engine had a counterbalanced, double ended crankshaft mounted in ball bearings. The rear wheels mounted directly to the crankshaft ends. Holy cow.

This thing actually worked. Somewhere I have a photo of Von Dutch tearing down the street on the skates, with a teather string for a throttle. I can't find it right now, but when I do, I'll post it up for you to see.

Some people have said that both the pair of skates were powered, but Dutch only powered one of them. That was how you "stopped" yourself - when you had scared yourself silly on them, you raised the powered skate off the ground to "stop" yourself. Sidewalk cracks must have been a bitch!

The Maxx is done

Got to run it today for a little bit and it seemed slow as shit. I need to tune the motor and get it going better. My glow plug igniter battery died so i couldn't run the truck after the tank ran out. But I'm happy that it runs and is done.

I afro engineered the battery because I put the receiver into the battery box and plan on getting a hump pack, so I threw this one on and ran it.

New Pipe

So, funny little story about the pipe. After i posted on here at 12:30 am, i decided i was going to check the tracking info and find out when my pipe would be here. So i checked it and it said delivered. So being 1am and im wide awake i decide to go check the mail and there it is. So needless to say i could have had my new pipe installed about 9 hours ago when i got off of work if only i would have checked the mail, but its on and let me know what ya think. I got it off Ebay for $ 22.99 with free shipping. So $23.00 to your door. Not bad if you ask me. If anyone is interested in getting one let me know and i'll send you a link or get it for you if you dont have an ebay account. I ordered it monday, my payment cleared tuesday and i had it friday, so its super fast shipping also. He has it in Red, Blue , Purple, Brushed , and polished all for the same price. Its made by dynamite and everyone else had it priced anywhere from $40 to $55 so ur not gonna beat this price for a nice exhaust pipe.

Joe's Truck

Trucks looking good kirby. Whats left, or is it ready to run. I ordered a pipe for my truck a few days ago off of ebay. It was $22, free shipping. When i get it and get it installed i'll post pictures and let anyone interested know exactly what the listing was in case they want to order one. I'll post pictures asap
